What a season! Two words to describe our second fall running season, build and improve.

We added more passionate runners that made the season a lot more fun and a lot more serious. Helping us build a stronger running culture in Bakersfield.

Improvement came natural, with consistency and competitiveness. Personally speaking I dropped my 5K time down to 21:33 as I continue to stay consistent and injury free I hope to break into the teens by the end of next year.

We made a major change this season switching to minutes over miles training, really helped push our agenda of “all paces welcomed” I truly feel it was the right decision for our club.

Athletes are able to train without the fear of “Im not that fast” because we run minutes not miles. So if a training day calls for 45 minutes, regardless of your pace you will be back in 45 minutes.

Granted, in those 45 minutes some might run more or less that you but it will all be based on their own ability allowing a 16 minute 5K runner to train with a 29 minute 5K runner.

Next year is going to be even better, now that we have established a solid foundation we hope to really advertise our club and grow even more. One of my goals is that more running club get inspired to follow our lead. See you at the start line.
